How to build a wooden bunk bed



A wood bunk bed is a well-known spectacle in lots of homes with children. Kids seem to get pleasure from containing their own space, regardless of the square feet of area. Within that liberty area, you will find many more items than pillows, mattresses and quilts. You will always find too many toys, story books and even pets there. The childrens beds are not just a sleeping areas; it is the area where they grow. Bunk beds are best option to be placed in one of your kids room or if your kids are having a shared room. If you want to develop a wooden bunk bed in your home without spending much on retail price then following are the tips to follow.
Cut you lumber size:
Purchase a lumber yard from a nearer lumber yard and purchase a cutter from a retailer to cut the lumber. Measure out the dimensions for which you want to develop the bunk bed and then cut the lumber accordingly. You must make a square on the lumber before cutting it to get the right and proper shape. You may use a carpenter square to draw a square. You must cut the lumber from outside the boundaries of square mark. Cut the pieces for headboard and footboard too.
Mark the Placement:
You should mark all the places on your main wood piece where other pieces will be attached. Mark the position of headboard, footboard with due care. You must place all the pieces together to watch out the feasibility. The board must be 12 inches above the floor.  
Drill Bolt Holes:
Now you need to create drill holes on you main board so that you may attach all other item to it. You need to develop holes exactly on the marks that you created in the last step. You must create holes for your sideboards, headboard and footboard. You also need to create bolt holes for legs that will support your main board.
Fasten Headboards and Foot Boards:
You must place all the boards on the floor first. Then you must put the headboard, footboard and side boards on their positions to checkout their alignment. Make sure that all the boards are properly aligned and in shape. After assurance, you may fix the headboard and footboard to their positions using screws, nuts and bolts.
Affix Plywood to the Sideboards:
Make a proper layout of your sideboards and plywood. Post them on the positions where they should be placed. Mark the area of plywood where sideboards will be connected. Develop a full line on the plywood where you will place the sideboard so that you may mark the holes for screws. On the line, drill holes after each one feet so that the sideboards may get properly and strongly affixed to the plywood. Then you may attach the sideboards to the plywood edges using screws, nuts and bolts.
After these steps a structure of your wooden bunk bed will be ready. You may color the bed in your own desired shade and tone. If you involve your kid in this manufacturing process then it will be a great fun for him.
